Our client, in the FMCG sector is seeking to recruit a dynamic and results-oriented Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee the FMCG operations across Africa and Mauritius. As a crucial member of our executive team, the COO will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company's strategic vision.

Responsibilities:

Compliance and collaboration with the Managing Director to develop and execute the company's strategic goals, objectives, and growth.
Assume responsibility for end-to-end operations, including supply chain management, manufacturing, distribution, and logistics.
Devise and implement comprehensive operational strategies and initiatives to optimize performance, enhance productivity, and facilitate sustainable growth.
Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), industry trends, and market dynamics to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
Cultivate a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence throughout the organization.
Forge and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as suppliers, distributors, and government agencies, fostering collaboration and business success.
Drive the development and execution of new product launches, ensuring timely delivery, market success, and customer satisfaction.
Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, promoting active communication, collaboration, and coordination across departments.
Deliver regular reports and presentations to the executive team and board of directors.

what you need to know

Profile:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly desirable.
Possess a proven track record in a senior leadership roles, including substantial experience in operations management within the FMCG industry.
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the FMCG market.
Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, alongside a strong business acumen.
Showcase a history of driving operational excellence, process improvement, and cost optimization.
Possess excellent leadership and people management skills, with the capability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve outstanding results.
Display strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels.
Demonstrate a proven ability to establish and maintain robust relationships with suppliers, distributors, and other business partners.
Exhibit proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and project management tools.
Be flexible and available for travel within Africa as necessary.
