Our client, a pioneer in major sectors of the economy, is currently seeking to recruit a Group Internal Auditor who will report to the Chairman of the Audit Committee and the Chief Financial Officer. The Group Internal Auditor will be responsible to ensure that risk management, internal controls processes in place are adequate and effective within the Group. He/she will be responsible to conduct internal audits in line with the Group’s audit plan, prepare findings reports, provide value-added recommendation, and follow up on audit issues in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

Prepare the Group’s Audit plan, policies and processes.
Organise internal audit and risk team meetings for periodic review of progress in the implementation of related annual plan.
Prepare draft findings and ensure adequate root cause has been identified.
Conduct follow up and testing on audit issues in a timely manner.
Engage with other business units in following up implementation of Audit recommendations.
Development and implementation of risk management strategies and policies.
Identify and evaluate the organization's risk exposure and develop strategies to manage risk effectively.
Supervise the Group’s business units on risk register.
Conduct risk assessments and audit reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of the internal control systems and identify areas for improvement.
Oversee compliance with internal audit charter, code of ethics and Group's organization’s policies and rules.
Prepare and present reports to the Audit Committee and senior management on audit findings, risk assessments, and other relevant issues.

what you need to know

Profile:

Degree in accounting or any related field and/or partly ACA/ACCA qualified.
At least 5 years in an auditing field in a senior position.
Experience in a dynamic and constantly evolving business environment will be ideal.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
