Our client, one of the oldest construction companies in Mauritius which is resolutely geared towards quality and innovative construction techniques while respecting the environment. The company is seeking to recruit for the post of Head of Human Resource.

. Develop and implement HR policies with respect to recruitment, training, man-power, performance, pay and incentives.
. Make recommendations to management on organisation structure, work practices and culture change based on verifiable data (e.g., employee surveys, performance ratings, exit interviews, salary surveys, training needs analysis etc).
. Work with management to create a unifying culture of the company ensuring the culture is consistent and coherent across business functions.
. Develop competency frameworks and guidelines across job families and categories to ensure consistent recruitment, training programs and performance management.
. Regularly audit the organisation structure to ensure relevance and alignment with business strategy.
. Develop and implement pay and incentives that are aligned with performance and competence.
. Provide strategic direction on occupational health, safety and environment.
. Promote the use of technology to ensure HR delivers on basic administrative services and to integrate HR programs.
. Build a team of competent and high-performing HR professionals through rigorous recruitment and development initiatives.

what you need to know

. Minimum 5 years at the head of the HR function in a large organisation (over and above previous experience at middle management level).
. Proven experience in change management, including implementation of culture change initiatives.
. Experience in implementing Human Resource Information Systems in the context of transforming the HR function.
. Proven experience in design and implementation of performance management systems.
. Has knowledge and a keen understanding of contemporary theory and practice of talent management and organisation design.
. Capable of demonstrating leadership and credibility to advise, and work with, top management.
