Our client is currently seeking to recruit an experienced and dynamic Head of IT who shall be responsible of the Cluster’s information technology activities of the cluster.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the job incumbent will be mainly required to:

Define the IT strategy and governance aligned with the business strategy and objectives.
Lead strategic and operational technological planning by coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies in line with the organisation’s needs and goals.
Manage the day-to-day operational activities of the IT department including services, technical interventions and projects deployment.
Analyse, assess, monitor, improve and optimise existing business systems and IT services.
Provide direction, develop, manage and implement fit for purpose IT solutions and services that enhance mission-critical business operations.
Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, and support of all hardware and software based on Cluster needs.
Devise and implement IT policies, processes and procedures, in line with the operational needs and the group’s standards.
Benchmark, analyse, assess, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
Identify opportunities and develop business case justifications for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems, projects, initiatives and resources including staffing, selection, sourcing, hardware and software acquisition/upgrade and maintenance contracts.
Ensure that the necessary framework is put in place for security, regulatory compliance and governance.
Oversee and re-engineer applications support to ensure alignment with strategic vision, business processes, tactical and operational business objectives.
Lead the IT team, motivate, develop and engage team and ensure that the level of service is up to standards.

what you need to know

Profile:

Degree in Information Technology or any equivalent qualification.
Knowledge in FMCG or related commercial industry is essential.
Above 8 years’ experience in in a senior management position.
Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic and operational IT plans.
ITIL and/or PMP certification will constitute an advantage.
Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
Change champion with ability to challenge the status-quo.
Strong team player working with cross functional teams.
Result oriented with excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
