Our client, active in the port activities is currently seeking to recruit an experienced candidate for the position of IT Project Manager.
Main Responsibilities will be to:
Maintain information technology strategies by managing staff, researching and implementing technological strategic solutions.
Technical Management, Technical Understanding, Analysing Information, Informing Others, Staffing, Problem Solving, Data Center Management, Developing Budgets, Coordination, Strategic Planning, Quality Management.
Implement agreed approaches and defined plans, without necessarily taking on the responsibility of ongoing refinement.
Create appropriate plans that comprise various tasks and templates for monitoring the progress of projects against the set plan.
Create additional documents like status reports, project initiation document, project closure documents, and project plans.
Constantly seek executive guidance, coaching, and reviewing after initial drafting.
Understand the different roles in the organisation including how activities are organised and how reporting relationships work.
Accomplish information technology staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Lead and evaluate IT Staff, maintain staff by orienting and training employees; maintain a safe and secure work environment and develop personal growth opportunities.
Maintain organisation’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
Direct technological research by studying organisational goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.
Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data centre.
Verify application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organisation outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective action.
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

what you need to know
Degree in Information Technology or Management or a relevant field from a recognised University.
A Masters degree would be an advantage.
Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position.
At least 10 years in hardware and software development of large IT projects in public sector.
Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software.
Outstanding leadership and organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving ability.
This position is on a Contractual Basis.
