Our client in the project management sector is seeking to recruit a Project Engineer who will report to the Project Manager and Project Director.
Responsibilities:
Contract review and definition of the scope of supply and project milestones.
Cashflow analysis and forecast:
- Including a monthly overview of payments to suppliers,
- Invoicing to clients based on project milestone payments,
- Project budget control.
Project planning and schedule control.
Design review and continuous drawing review (squad check sign-off).
Procurement and expediting.
Interface with suppliers on manufacturing, progress, and quality.
Continuous updating and reporting to management.
Client interface and reporting.
Document control based on the vendor data & document register. Document close-out and sign off as proof of milestone completion.
Quality management and interface with the company internal quality department. Completing or assisting on critical QA inspections at subcontractor manufacturing works worldwide.
Ensuring quality control witness points are adhered to and reports are produced per intervention point.
Working with subcontractors and QC to manage and schedule quality intervention visits to meet the project needs.
Logistics management of the various components from completion up until the goods are delivered to site.
Managing the mill installation and commissioning with the company site services team on the various sites worldwide and completing site visits at various points during the installation and commissioning phases.

what you need to know
Profile:
Mechanical Engineer with an appropriate qualification from University or Technical College.
More than 5 years in a mechanical engineering environment or similar.
Mineral processing and/or heavy engineering experience would be beneficial.
Hands-on (Prictical) experience in the manufacturing environment.
Site/Installation experience.
Proven track record in project management skills consisting of:
- Management of projects,
- Budget control,
- Time control/scheduling,
- Quality control,
- Organizational skills,
- Time management,
- Leadership and supervisory skills,
- Decision-making skills,
- Strong written and verbal communication.
Experience in supply and installation contracts.
The ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite as well as experience with Microsoft Projects.
Have a good understanding of how to read engineering drawings, process & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s).
A good understanding of the various component manufacturing techniques (castings, forgings, fabrications, and machining).
Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment.
Must be fluent in English – both written and verbal.
International travel may be required from time to time to various manufacturing points worldwide as well as visiting the various sites, as required.
