Our client in the reinsurance sector, is seeking to recruit for a high caliber candidate for the role of Risk Manager to manage and develop the risk framework of the company.


Ensure a robust and proportionate Risk Management Framework is developed, documented and updated as required.
Identify, manage and regularly reviews the key risks to the company, incorporating underwriting, operational risk, regulatory risk, strategic and financial risks.
Ensure appropriate risk identification, management and escalation processes, including: adoption of methodologies for assessment of each risk, the management of Risk Events and tracking related actions to closure.
Effective and efficient management of the company's risk management system.
Maintain and update the company's Risk Register.
Establish and quantify company's 'Risk Appetite', i.e. the level of risk the company is prepared to accept.
Report risk in an appropriate way for different audiences, for example, to the board of directors so they understand the most significant risks, to business heads to ensure they are aware of risks relevant to their parts of the business and to individuals to understand their accountability for individual risks.
Develop Key Risk Indicators as to monitor the changes in the risk profile of the company.
Develop and promote a strong Risk culture across the business.
Prepare reporting for senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
Initiate, develop and maintain strong business relationships with key internal and external.
Stay up to date with current regulatory trends, best practice and changes that will affect the business.
Undertake ad hoc tasks given by the company's CRO and Office Head.

what you need to know

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management.
Law degree or Associate’s degree in Risk Management preferred.
Demonstrable practical experience of developing, implementing and maintaining risk management frameworks in a regulated and customer focused industry.
Experience of assisting the business to identify and document first line risks and controls.
Strong knowledge of risk management best practice.
Excellent command of English and French, both written and verbal.
Excellent analytical skills to understand the key points from complicated files.
Independent and ethical work attitude.
Demonstrates attention to detail.
Strong analytical & report writing skills.
