Our client, a local major player in the logistics field, has embarked on a journey to transform the company and prepare for a future with ambitious growth and targets. They are looking for strong and talented candidate to fill up the following position:

The Transport Manager will ensure that haulage arrive safely to their destinations, on time and in the most cost-effective way.

Main Responsibilities

Plan routes and supervise the shipment from production to the end-user.
Coordinate with Warehouse workers to ensure proper storage and distribution of products.
Allocate and record resources and movements on the transport planning system.
Ensure all partners in the supply chain are working effectively and efficiently to ensure smooth operations.
Communicate effectively with clients and respond to their requirements.
Book sub-contractors and ensuring they deliver within agreed terms.
Direct all transportation activities.
Develop transportation relationships.
Monitor and report on transportation costs.
Negotiate and bargain transportation prices.
Deal with the effects of congestion.
Confront climate change issues by implementing transport strategies and monitor an organisation's carbon footprint.
Conduct regular safety audits on equipment.
Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment.
Stay up to date with safety regulations.

what you need to know

BSc in Supply Chain, Logistics or relevant field is a plus.
Proven work experience as a Transportation Manager or similar role.
Solid knowledge of supply chain management.
Experience preparing and tracking orders.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to supervise and train staff.
Problem-solving abilities.
Familiar with safety processes and legal regulations.
