Our client is seeking to recruit a Head of Laboratory who will report to the Managing Director.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Identify market opportunities by analysing trends, customer needs and the competitive landscape.
Follow up on procurement processes for product tenders, ensuring product specifications are properly listed.
Track stock levels, flag products nearing expiry or dormant items and maintain consignment registers where applicable.
Ensure timely invoicing of deliveries and close store forms and invoices within two weeks.
Collaborate with the technical team and suppliers to resolve customer issues.
Maintain compliance with company values, national regulations and ISO standards, including health and safety provisions.
Ensure all activities comply with industry regulations, promoting ethical practice and integrity in all dealings.
Develop and execute sales strategy aligned with company targets, including pricing and contract negotiation.
Drive market expansion by pursuing new clients, partnerships and territories.
Oversee the sales pipeline, sales forecasting and budget allocation, reporting performance to senior management.
Recruit, train and manage the laboratory sales team, setting targets and conducting performance evaluations.
Own risk management and complaint resolution at a strategic level, escalating as required to the Managing Director.
what you need to know
Profile:
HSC plus a tertiary qualification in science, engineering or business; nursing qualifications are also accepted.
Strong academic and professional background in a scientific environment, with experience in healthcare, clinical settings.
Demonstrated business development and sales acumen, with a measurable track record of revenue growth.
Prior experience managing a team at senior level, including recruitment, coaching and performance management.
Exposure to strategic planning and execution at a management level is a requirement for the Head of Laboratory track.
Computer literate, with working knowledge of MS Office tools.
Proficiency in written and spoken English and French.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and selling skills.
In-depth understanding of medical equipment specifications, features and applications.
Familiarity with clinical environments and workflows and a working understanding of quality assurance processes for medical devices.
Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
Ability to train healthcare professionals and technical staff on the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
