Our client in the import and export sector is seeking to recruit a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Transshipment and Equipment Officer to join the operations team. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating transshipment operations, managing container equipment, and ensuring the efficient movement of cargo through the port while maintaining high standards of operational excellence and customer service.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate all transshipment activities to ensure containers are successfully connected to their onward vessels within the required timelines.
Monitor transshipment cargo movements and proactively resolve missed connections, operational exceptions, and shipment discrepancies.
Liaise with Port Authorities, Customs Authorities, port terminals, feeder operators, transport providers, shipping partners, and internal departments to ensure seamless cargo handling and operations.
Monitor vessel schedules and coordinate cargo and equipment activities to support efficient vessel operations.
Plan, monitor, and optimize container equipment availability to meet operational and customer requirements.
Ensure the timely release, repositioning, and utilization of empty containers while maintaining equipment balance.
Maintain accurate operational records and update internal systems with cargo, vessel, and equipment information.
Prepare operational, transshipment, and equipment reports, and support performance monitoring.
Investigate and resolve operational issues related to cargo, equipment, and vessel operations in a timely manner.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, port regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.
Provide prompt and professional operational support to customers, agents, business partners, and other stakeholders.

what you need to know

Profile:

A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role or related field would be an advantage.
Studies or qualifications in shipping, logistics, maritime operations, or a related field would be considered an asset.
Previous experience in shipping, logistics, container operations, maritime services, or port operations will be an advantage.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet operational deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Good command of written and spoken English.
Knowledge of French will be an advantage.
