Our client, a leading company specialised in alcoholic beverages is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for the position of Internal Auditor. We are looking for a highly competent, independent and analytical individual to strengthen our internal control, risk management and governance framework and to provide objective assurance to C-grade Management and the Board.
Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing an annual internal audit plan based on identified business and operational risks.
Conducting independent audits of the Company's financial, operational, procurement, inventory and administrative processes.
Reviewing the effectiveness of internal controls, procedures and systems and recommending improvements where necessary.
Assessing compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accounting standards, Company policies and internal procedures.
Identifying operational, financial and compliance risks and assessing the adequacy of controls designed to mitigate those risks.
Reviewing financial records, transactions, supporting documentation and accounting processes to identify irregularities, weaknesses or potential fraud.
Preparing clear and comprehensive internal audit reports and carrying out investigations and special audits when requested by C-grade Management and the Board.
Monitoring the implementation of agreed audit recommendations and reporting on outstanding actions.
Working closely with management and relevant departments to improve efficiency, accountability and risk management.
Maintaining appropriate audit working papers and documentation in accordance with professional standards.
Providing independent advice to management on strengthening governance, internal controls and business processes.
Keeping abreast of changes in legislation, regulatory requirements, accounting standards and best practices relevant to the Company's activities.
what you need to know
Profile:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Business Administration or a related discipline.
A professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent will be highly advantageous.
At least 12 years of relevant professional experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, financial control, risk management or a related field, preferably within the manufacturing, FMCG, food & beverage, industrial or similar sectors.
Strong knowledge of internal control frameworks, risk management and audit methodologies.
Sound understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles.
Proven experience in identifying control weaknesses and providing practical recommendations for improvement.
Excellent analytical, report-writing and communication skills.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, independence and professional judgement.
Good working knowledge of accounting and audit software and Microsoft Office applications.
