Our client is seeking to recruit an Assistant Accountant.
Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Prepare monthly accounts, financial reports, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable and supplier/customer balances.
Manage and process monthly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and related benefits.
Maintain accurate payroll records and reconcile payroll with accounting records.
Calculate and process salaries, overtime, allowances, deductions, leave payments and other payroll-related adjustments.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll-related statutory returns and contributions.
Assist with cash flow monitoring, banking activities and payment processing.
Prepare and submit VAT and other statutory returns.
Support budgeting, forecasting, audits and month-end/year-end closing activities.
Ensure compliance with accounting, payroll and statutory requirements, as well as internal policies, procedures and controls.
Provide accurate financial and payroll information and support to management as required.
what you need to know
Profile:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field / or at least and ACCA level 2 completed.
3-4 years of experience in a similar accounting role; experience in retail is an advantage.
Knowledge of local tax laws and accounting standards.
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Experience in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Excel.
Good understanding of financial reporting, payroll, and tax requirements.
Time management and ability to meet deadlines
