Our client in the Renewable Energy Sector in Mauritius is seeking to recruit a dynamic Accountant who will report to the Finance Director. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the accountability of the company.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger entries, ensuring all financial transactions and entries are accurate.
Control of second level on the cost follow up of each renewable project.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable on a monthly basis.
Prepare and review monthly management accounts and quarterly and annual closings.
Provide necessary documents to support internal and external audits and resolve auditor queries.
Monitor financial performance, identify variances, provide financial analysis and recommend cost-saving measures.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in adherence to industry regulations and standards and internal process.
Ensure that financial processes are well respected internally.
Lead preparation of the annual Budget exercise.
Work with other team finance members on the correct computation of taxes and tax returns and the reconciliation of company subsidiaries current accounts.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards, ISO Standards and company policies.
what you need to know
Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
CA / CMA / ICWA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
At least 4 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management.
Prior experience in tax filing, audit support, and financial reporting will be an added advantage.
Skills and Abilities:
Good Knowledge of accounting principles, taxation laws, fiscality and financial regulations.
Proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Excel, Power Point and related accounting tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage deadlines independently and handle multiple priorities.
