Our client is seeking to recruit a highly experienced and proactive Accounts Executive to support the Finance Team with precision, integrity, and autonomy. The Accounts Executive will report to the Chief Operating Officer.
Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including trial balances, management accounts, and forecasts.
Perform bank reconciliations, control accounts reconciliation, and ensure accuracy of the general ledger.
Maintain and monitor Accounts Payable ensuring timely settlements and follow-ups.
Ensure compliance with Statutory deadlines with MRA, ROC, FSC requirements: VAT returns, Tax computations.
Support audit processes by preparing and organising required documentation and liaising with auditors.
Manage fixed asset register, depreciation schedules, and prepayment accruals.
Identify financial discrepancies and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Contribute to internal control improvements and system automation initiatives.
what you need to know
Profile:
ACCA Partly Qualified (minimum Level 2 completed).
At least 2 to 3 years of experience in core accounting functions, capable of managing complex reconciliations, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance with minimal supervision.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, local tax legislation, and financial reporting standards in Mauritius.
Proficient in accounting systems such as QuickBooks.
Advanced Excel skills and high level of accuracy in data entry and analysis
