Our client in the FMCG sector is currently seeking to recruit an experienced candidate for the position of Business Development Manager who will be responsible to develop and manage assigned brands, maximize growth and profitability as well as to develop new product lines and ensure the proper implementation of Business Development strategies.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the main responsibilities will be:
Participate in the budgeting process of the revenue, margins and total overhead costs.
Prepare the annual brand plan in collaboration with the Senior Manager and the business partner.
Manage brand’s annual budget after the publication of the original budget.
Conduct brand analysis by conducting in house market research and price surveys and prepare reports accordingly.
Participate actively with the suppliers in product developments to ensure a competitive position in anticipation of changing customers’ needs.
Identify and develop new opportunities for business growth.
Lead suppliers’ visits, prepare and attend business reviews.
Work with external agencies for development of communication strategies, surveys, market research, marketing plans and product development.
Establish the most appropriate Route to Market model that would suit the market entry strategy and market development.
Plan procurement budget and handle logistic management in collaboration with Supply Chain team.
Create price models for products and maintain / update them as and when required.
Define planogram of products for shelves display in collaboration with supplier and Sales team.
Place orders in a timely manner so as to ensure appropriate stock level at all time.
Be on the lookout for competitor’s activities, and reports opportunities and threats to Management.
Lead negotiations & discussions and ensure implementation of agreed strategies.
Keep updated with export procedures, custom regulations and taxation.
Liaise closely with forwarders & authorities for shipment booking confirmation and monitor shipment.
Provide regular established reports on market trends and performance for proactive actions and strategies triggered.
Provide stock and sales report to the senior Manager on a monthly basis and identify any potential risks on products shelf life cycle.
what you need to know
Master’s Degree in Marketing//Business Administration or any other related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a dynamic commercial environment in a similar position.
Excellent analytical skills.
Ability to develop, plan and implement short to long term goals.
Ability to maintain high standards of corporate governance principles.
The position will be based in Madagascar.
