Our client, The MTC Jockey Club Ltd (MTCJC), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mauritius Turf Club, is seeking to recruit a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance and Administrative Manager who will report to the General Manager and to the Board of Directors of the MTCJC. The incumbent will take care of all the important financial functions, and the overall oversight of subsidiaries of the MTCJC, including the MTC Gaming Ltd and its operations.
Main Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation of the company's annual budget, business planning and systems management.
Ensure all cash flow is monitored prudently and manage organization's financial resources and ensure proposals are made for budget amendments as and when necessary.
Prepare and present to the Board the weekly revenue report after each race meeting.
Prepare Annual Report for members and presentation in AGM.
Monitor the Cash flow to ensure that the Company has adequate cash to fulfil its financial obligation.
Liaise with Internal/External auditors and answer to any queries and request for information.
Review internal audit report with management comments and target date.
Present report to the Audit and Risk Committee
Ensure that the payroll administration is done accurately.
Review monthly VAT and TDS return
Follow up with Legal Executive to ensure that all contracts are renewed before end of season.
Comply with all rules and regulations falling under the aegis the Gambling Regulatory.
Develop the strategic goals, objectives, budgets, policies, and procedures to enhance the Company profitability and return on investment and seek approval from the Board of Directors.
Assist and advise the pension administrators regarding the company pension Scheme.
what you need to know
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualified Accountant with ACCA / CA / CIMA.
At least 10 years' experience including 5 years' experience at Management level.
Strong knowledge of Horse Racing environment.
Good Knowledge -IFRS-Audit-Taxation-corporate governance and internal control systems.
Excellent Communicator.
Excellent Leader.
Business Acumen.
Basic legal knowledge.
