Our client, a private owned company, started as pioneers in the mechanical derocking and sugarcane harvesting operations in Mauritius. The company is seeking to recruit a Finance Manager.
STRATEGIC PLANNING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Develop financial strategy and business plans aligned to the company's strategic plan
Ensure effective implementation, monitoring of financial business plans and exercise necessary controls for company 's interests
Ensure that all new development projects/ investments are initiated, managed and executed effectively and all appropriate means are provided for, for such projects to be rendered operational
Ensure effective management of company's cash flows in accordance with corporate guidelines
Consolidate budget estimates and long-term planning of potential investments/ projects
Ensure appropriate internal control systems are implemented and adhered to
Compile the financials of the company & group companies - analyse monthly and quarterly financial reports producing all necessary reports to the MD and Board
Review all operating expenses
Create and maintain relationships with banks/ external financial institutions
Assist the CEO in the formulation of financial policies and operating procedures and ensure the transmission of these policies and procedures to all departments.
Monitor adherence of financial procedures and recommend improvements based on audit reports findings of external consultants.
Prepare financial feasibility studies for new projects
Review & advise on the general ledger, balance sheet and profit and Loss Account as per Management Standards and criteria
Undertake cash flow/ fund management to ensure timely availability of funds
Devise cost saving schemes by ensuring the critical review of all business aspects with particular emphasis on cost structures
Plan, organize, direct, control and oversee the operations of information systems
Develop IT Services Strategic Plan for implementation of systems aimed towards enhancing business efficiency
Develop and advice on IT related policies, procedures
Plan and develop IT related budgets and review expenditures
Oversee & advice on the implementation of the new ERP system
PEOPLE AND DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT
Review & assist the preparation of departmental budgets
Deal with employee issues (Attendance, Sick leaves, Illnesses, etc.)
Organise and Supervise the work for all staff in the department
Liaise with the CEO regarding recruitment needs and other departmental decisions to be taken
Drive changes as appropriate and ensure that initiatives taken at the Board and Management levels are implemented
what you need to know
Fully Qualified Accountant.
Minimum 15 years' working experience including 5 years at Management level.
Familiar with accounting software.
Excellent Excel skills.
Good communication skills.
Accurate, efficient and deadline driven.
