Our client is seeking to recruit a General Ledger Accountant who will report to the Group Financial Controller. The incumbent will be responsible to support the effective management of the country operation by ensuring accurate, reliable, and timely management reporting.
Responsibilities:
Delivering all financial reporting, dashboard, and other reports on time and to the required standards.
Ensure quality control over financial transactions.
Support respective ledger clerks in month-end and year-end close process.
Coordinate the preparation of budget and working closely with the operations and project teams in analysing margins, variances and cost analysis.
Coordinate the preparation of monthly management accounts with relevant commentaries which will help management in decision making.
Providing country and project teams with margin analysis, variances and cost analysis and other reports.
Support relevant audit processes.
Ensure weekly cash flash is produced on time and accurately, including follow up and query of any deviation in actual collection and payment.
Prepare and maintain clean and accurate Trial Balance.
Prepare and maintain Balance sheet reconciliation and propose to management any necessary accounting adjustments, for decision making.
Ensure monthly intercompany transactions and balances are accurately reconciled with other entities in the group.
Prepare and finalise periodical VAT and other taxes remittance and filing.
Responsible for fixed asset management and maintenance for fixed asset register.
Responsible for inventory management and maintenance for inventory register.
Responsible for the maintenance of WIP / project schedules.
what you need to know
Profile:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
CA/ACCA qualification is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field.
Fluent in written and spoken English and French.
Fully proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and internal controls.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work well in a team environment and build positive relationships.
Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate financial information.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Experience working with ERP systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to demonstrate administrative skills in the workplace.
Ability to demonstrate reporting experience.
