Our client in the operation sector is seeking to recruit a dynamic General Manager who will collaborate with the Managing Director and Group Management in executing the strategic, commercial, operational, and administrative leadership of the company, ensuring business growth, profitability, customer satisfaction, compliance to Group standards, and strong governance.
The General Mananager will ensure effective planning, disciplined execution, and high-performance culture across all departments, while maintaining excellent relationships with principals, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Strategic & Business Leadership:
Oversee the development and execution of departmental strategies and annual plans, ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives.
Guide departmental managers in translating strategic goals into operational action plans and monitors their delivery.
Set performance expectations and reviews departmental progress toward sales, service, and profitability targets.
Commercial & Sales Leadership:
Provide direction to the Sales Manager on sales planning, pipeline discipline, customer acquisition strategies, and key account engagement.
Review sales performance reports, identifies variances, and ensures corrective measures are implemented by the Sales Manager.
Strengthen relationships with principals and key customers by overseeing structured engagement led by the relevant managers.
After-Sales & Customer Service Oversight:
Ensure the Workshop Manager, Parts Manager, and After-Sales Manager maintain high operational standards regarding turnaround times, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
Monitor customer-related KPIs through managerial reports and ensure action plans are developed and executed by the responsible managers.
Oversee escalation management frameworks, ensuring all escalations are handled by the respective managers according to defined standards.
Operational & Administrative Governance:
Ensure all departmental managers maintain full compliance with group policies, procedures, safety requirements, and governance standards.
Review and validate departmental processes to ensure efficiency, discipline, and adherence to internal control frameworks.
Provide managerial direction on workforce planning, resource allocation, and cross-departmental coordination.
Financial & Performance Management:
Review departmental budgets prepared by managers and signs off on submissions before forwarding to the MD/Finance.
Ensure managers maintain financial discipline across cost control, stock management, warranty handling, and debtor follow-up.
Monitor overall business performance through consolidated managerial reporting and ensures timely implementation of improvement actions.
People Leadership:
Lead a team of managers by setting goals, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Coach and develop department managers to strengthen leadership capacity and succession pipelines.
Ensure managers enforce disciplinary, ethical, and confidentiality standards within their respective teams.
what you need to know
Profile:
Degree in Business Management / Engineering / Operations / or related field.
Minimum 10 years senior management experience, preferably in industrial equipment, automotive, engineering, or technical services.
Proven track record in sales leadership, operational management, financial steering, and team leadership.
