Our client, a well-established Mauritian Group is recruiting an accomplished and visionary leader to join its organisation as Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO). This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic executive to play a pivotal role within the Group’s leadership team, driving transformative financial strategies and shaping the future of a thriving, internationally focused enterprise. The Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) will report directly to the CEO and leads the financial strategy, digital transformation,
governance, and risk management of the Group.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals to ensure the Group’s long-term viability and sustainable development.
Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Board, and senior management, contributing to decision-making for investments, M&A, and international expansion.
Establish and review group-wide processes for budgeting, fi nancial forecasting, business planning, and resource allocation.
Drive financial modelling and robust scenario analysis to support future growth and resilience in uncertain environments.
Lead the digitalization of financial processes by introducing automation, ERP upgrades, business intelligence solutions, and data analytics.
Ensure alignment with international compliance standards (IFRS, SASB, GRI, etc.) and proactively manage regulatory changes across jurisdictions.
Oversee treasury, working capital, and cash flow management, ensuring effi cient capital allocation and optimal funding structure.
Oversee ESG and sustainability reporting, integrating ESG metrics into financial decision-making and risk management frameworks.
Drive robust financial controls, internal audits, and compliance, including anti-fraud, anti-money laundering (AML), and cybersecurity for financial data.
Coordinate global tax planning and compliance, leveraging international tax opportunities while mitigating risks.
Lead the development of business continuity planning (BCP), financial risk assessment, and crisis response strategies e.g., economic, cyber, or geopolitical events).
Supervise timely, accurate consolidation and reporting of group financial performance to the board, audit & risk committees, and external stakeholders.
Manage relationships with external auditors, investors, shareholders (including minorities), rating agencies, and financial partners across countries.
Build and maintain a high-performing, local and international finance team; promote diversity, cross-cultural awareness, and continuous learning.
what you need to know
QUALIFICATIONS & TECHNICAL SKILLS:
A Fellow Member of a professional accounting bodies (CA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW or equivalent).
He / she should have a minimum of 10 years of senior management experience, in a dynamic business environment.
A proven track record in strategic financial management and control in operations or at corporate level.
Proven expertise in international finance, digital finance tools, strategic planning, M&A, risk management, tax, and regulatory compliance.
Strong understanding of digital technologies, ESG, and cyber-risk as they relate to finance.
