Our client in the construction field is seeking to recruit a Head of Department Flooring who will report to the Director. The incumbent will be responsible for leading projects on the sites.

Responsibilities:

Lead projects from inception, ensuring cost control and operational efficiency.
Identify and secure new job opportunities to ensure departmental continuity and profitability.
Manage the entire department, including planning, coordination, and performance monitoring.
Supervise on-site activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and safety standards.
Oversee both employees and contractors, ensuring productivity and compliance.
Analyze material usage, manage costs, and maintain optimal stock levels.
Quote for potential clients, build a strong client portfolio, and meet sales targets.
Introduce new ideas, promote inter-departmental collaboration, and represent the department's capabilities.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.

what you need to know

Profile:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or a related field is typically expected.
At least 3 to 5 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role overseeing flooring projects or teams.
Experience with project planning, cost estimation, and quality control is also critical.
Familiarity with various flooring materials (epoxy, polyurethane, concrete finishes, etc.), installation techniques, and safety standards is essential.
Strong organisation and planning skills.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good verbal and written communication.
Discreet, reliable, and team oriented.
Able to work in team.
Reliable and honest.
