Our client, providing business solutions to clients worldwide is seeking to recruit a Head of Marketing & Communication who will report to the Chief Executive Officer. The incumbent will lead a modern, data-driven marketing and communications function that strengthens the brand, generates qualified demand and supports expansion into priority African markets.

Responsibilities:

Lead the company’s brand platform and ensure consistency across all channels.
Develop PR, media and thought-leadership agendas to grow visibility in Mauritius and Africa.
Design and implement go-to-market playbooks for African market entry, adapted to cultural, regulatory and political contexts.
Build an “always-on” demand engine (SEO/SEM, LinkedIn, CRM, automation) aligned with Business Development.
Implement CRM and marketing automation, leveraging AI and data analytics to improve performance.
Establish performance scorecards (brand awareness, share-of-voice, ROMI, event ROI).
Build and manage a hybrid model (in-house + agencies); appoint deputies for Brand/PR, Digital/Tech and Internal Comms.
Take full ownership of internal communications to engage employees and embed brand purpose.
Safeguard brand reputation through compliance, ESG disclosures and proactive crisis communication.
Own and optimise the MarCom budget, ensuring transparency and measurable ROI.

what you need to know

Profile:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
10+ years of experience in marketing and communication within the financial sector.
Exposure to both local and foreign markets.
Proven success in launching brands/services in African markets (East/West/Southern Africa experience advantageous).
Hands-on experience with CRM, marketing automation and dashboard reporting.
Track record managing hybrid in-house + agency models.

Strategic insights: segmentation, value proposition, customer profiling, competitive intelligence.
Branding & Communications: PR, media relations, executive communications.
Digital & Performance: SEO/SEM, LinkedIn, email/marketing automation, web analytics, events.
Revenue Operations: pipeline design, MQL/SQL definitions, funnel analytics, ROMI.
Leadership & Collaboration: ability to coach, align teams and set clear standards.
Strong proficiency in both English and French, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
