Our client, a financing institution is seeking to recruit an IT Officer who will report to the HR & Admin. Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Administration and Maintenance of Systems and Infrastructure:
Administration of IT systems, networks and software.
Review and monitor backup solutions.
Ensure the security of data, network access and backup systems.
Manage user accounts, permissions and access.
Monitor and manage system logs, security alerts and quarantined emails.
Implement patches and updates to software and systems.
Monitor and maintain IT equipment and infrastructure.

Technical Support:
Provide timely and effective technical support to end-users.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network and system issues.
Install and configure new hardware, software and peripherals.

Documentation and Procedures:
Drafting and reviewing IT policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
Update documentation regularly to reflect changes in systems and software.

IT Procurement:
Assess IT hardware and software requirements.
Prepare technical specifications for IT purchases.
Recommend and manage repairs, maintenance and support services.

Incident Management:
Log, track and report all IT incidents and requests in a timely manner.
Take necessary actions as required.
Follow up with end-users to ensure issues are resolved.
Identify and address recurring incidents and implement solutions.
Monitor and identify potential risks.

Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate records of IT assets and inventory.
Perform any end-of-day, month and year processes for systems.
Perform any other cognate duties as required appropriate to the role and business requirements.

what you need to know

Profile:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
At least 2 years of experience as an IT Technician or in a similar role.
IT certifications in related fields would be an advantage.
Proven experience with Windows Server, Microsoft 365 and networking technologies.
Familiarity with IT security best practices and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, Data Protection).
Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
Experience with backup solutions and procedures.
Knowledge of SQL database.
Knowledge of networking concepts, protocols and troubleshooting tools.
Experience with network administration, configuration and monitoring.
Understanding of VPN technologies.
