Our client is seeking to recruit an experienced and results-driven Logistics Manager to oversee our warehouse and delivery operations. Reporting to senior management, the candidate will provide leadership to the warehouse and delivery teams while managing a fleet of vehicles serving our network of 28 stores across Mauritius. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of products from the warehouses to the stores and customers, while maintaining the highest standards of inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and customer service. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational expertise, excellent people management skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Lead and optimise all warehouse, distribution and delivery operations to ensure efficient receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfilment and dispatch.
Manage home deliveries, inter-store replenishment, B2B deliveries and reverse logistics while meeting agreed service levels.
Drive operational excellence by improving warehouse productivity, inventory accuracy, cost efficiency and minimising product damage and stock losses.
Manage the logistics budget, delivery costs, fleet performance and transport operations, ensuring compliance with all legal and operational requirements.
Lead, coach and develop warehouse and delivery teams, fostering a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
Monitor and improve key logistics KPIs, including inventory accuracy, fleet utilisation, delivery costs, damage rates and shrinkage.
Champion technology and process improvements through warehouse management systems, route optimisation and digital logistics solutions.
Collaborate closely with Retail, Buying, Service Centre and Customer Experience teams to ensure seamless operations and an exceptional customer experience.
what you need to know
Profile:
Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or a related field.
Minimum 5 years' experience in logistics, warehousing and distribution, including 2.3 years at managerial level
Strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.
Excellent analytical and organisational abilities.
Proficiency in ERP and WMS systems, with strong Excel and data analysis skills.
Experience within retail, consumer electronics, home appliances or FMCG will be a distinct advantage.
The successful candidate must be flexible and available to work outside normal business hours during peak trading periods, including Mother's Day, Black Friday, the festive season, stocktaking and inventory exercises. Weekend work, including Sundays, may be required to support business operations during these periods.
