Our client in the manufacturing and textile sector is seeking to recruit a Management Accountant who will report to the Head of Finance and Chief Finance Officer. The Management Accountant will provide the financial and operational insight that drives sound business decisions across the Group. The role combines budgeting, forecasting, cost control and performance analysis to give management a clear view of the gap between plan, order costed and reality, and to recommend corrective actions that protect margins and support growth. Working closely with operational and technical teams, the Management Accountant will ensure accurate, timely and reliable reporting in line with Group requirements, while continuously improving financial systems, controls and processes.

Responsibilities:

Budgeting, Forecasting and Reporting:

Participate in the preparation and delivery of budgets, forecasts and management reports.
Deliver budgets and rolling forecasts for the relevant business units/clusters.
Prepare monthly management reports and cost control reports per business unit/cluster.
Provide monthly costs and various reports required for the monthly closing.
Ensure the completeness and accuracy of figures according to requirements and deadlines.
Produce rolling forecasts and provide a clear vision of the gap between budget and actual results.
Train HOD on understanding their costs and accompany them in driving their budgets.

Cost Control and Analysis:

Control and forecast income and expenditure, measuring expenditure and performance against budget.
Follow up on variances on variable costs, measuring and analysing deviations versus standard costs.
Record project/production costs and back charges accurately and on time.
Provide other value added analytical reports and support ad-hoc analysis at the request of managers.
Train and accompany head of department in analysing and understanding their costs.
Drive and implement changes in the process of closing the accounting, in the process of reporting when required.

Business Partnering and Decision Support:

Gather and analyse financial information adn trends within the organisation's finances for internal use.
Conduct or support monthly operational and financial review meetings, presenting analysis and agreed action plans.
Advise on finance related decisions and suggest improvements to problems identified.
Support and drive business planning and decision making through forecasts and performance evaluation using key data.
Analyse customer order performance and report on same.
Ensure adequate assistance to operational and technical teams where required.
Develop visual dashboards and monthly reporting using AI or any tools available.
Presence on the operational floor to understand what is happening.

Governance, Risks and Controls:

Establish reliable and pertinent reporting in line with Group requirements, respecting reporting cycles and deadlines.
Assume responsibility for accounting procedures and the integrity of financial systems and policies.
Conduct risk assessments and advise on ways to minimise risk.
Deliver appropriate management information - financial reporting together with operational KPIs - consistent with the consolidated accounts and advise corrective actions.

Team and General:

Supervise and support grass root level personnel within the finance team and operation teams.
Assist the company in managing its investment portfolio and support budgeting and funding activities.
Perform any other cognate duties as may be required by Management.

what you need to know

Profile:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Fully qualified professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA).
Proven experience in a management accounting, cost control or financial analysis role.
Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel and financial/ERP systems.
Experience in a manufacturing, textile or multi-entity group environment will be an advantage.
Familiarity with ERP and business intelligence/reporting/AI tools.
Strong grasp of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and cost control principles.
Have a strong understanding of financial accounting as well.
Ability to build clear, accurate reports and translate data into actionable insight.
Sound understanding of accounting standards, controls and financial systems.
