Our client in the financial sector is seeking for a proactive and results oriented individual to supervise the debt recovery unit of its micro finance business operations. This role requires management of a team, development of recovery strategies, and timely collection of overdue credit while maintaining client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Supervise the recovery team to meet collection targets.
Assist in developing and implementing recovery strategies to minimise credit default.
Establish credit facility agreements with clients.
Track overdue accounts and set up recovery actions, including repayment agreements.
Track debt recovery targets and negotiate recovery terms with delinquent borrowers.
Attend to inquiries related to credit payment servicing and arrears.
Coordinate legal actions in relation to debt recovery.
Assess and report on client default risks.
Use recovery tools and systems to track and report on collection activities.
what you need to know
Profile:
Hold a professional qualification or degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management or other acceptable qualification.
Proven experience in debt recovery, credit management preferably in the fields of micro finance or lending with at least 4 years in a supervisory position.
Knowledge of Micro and/or Credit Finance legislation including AML-CFT.
Analytical and detail-oriented mind set with excellent problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of the SME & Corporate markets in Mauritius & Africa would be an advantage.
