Our client in the distribution sector is seeking to recruit a Sales Manager who will report to the Managing Director. The purpose of this role is to drive the company’s sales growth by developing and executing a strategic sales plan, expanding the customer base, and strengthening relationships with key clients.

Responsibilities:

Create and execute a robust strategic sales plan for the company.
Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities.
Regularly visit existing and potential clients to promote the company's product range, understand client needs, and build strong partnerships.
Organization of meetings and product tastings at the company or at clients' locations.
Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of gourmet Italian products, presenting them effectively to clients and ensuring they understand the value and quality of the offerings. Preparation of sales arguments to support the sale of each product category and making them available to the sales team.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and engagement. Address and resolve key clients’ complaints as and when needed.
Organization and participation in events where the company is a main participant, sponsor, or partner.
Prepare all materials for catalogs, flyers, promotions, Facebook posts, and social media forthe company and its shops, including franchises, as well as emails regarding price variations with the support of the marketing team. All official company communications to clients must be proposed, reviewed, and approved prior to release.
Drive sales and achieve annual sales growth objectives.
Lead, manage, and mentor the sales team, shop & franchisees to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
Define customer trading terms (e.g., credit, discount, payment terms) avoiding excessive discount and obtain approval with Financial Accountant and Managing Director.
Ensures the timely creation of invoices to clients upon product delivery or project completion and timely payment from customers.
Liaise with the import department to search for new products, meet client requests, and ensure product arrivals meet the timing required by clients.
Liaise with the Operations department so that products are delivered to clients in a timely and effective manner.
Follow-up on sent samples to obtain feedback on the products.
To perform any other cognate duties as may be assigned to you by Management.

what you need to know

Profile:

BA/BSc in Sales, Marketing or related field; MA/MSc in Sales, marketing, or or related field.
5 years as Sales & Marketing Manager or other management role.
Previous experience in the HORECA industry is a must.
Thorough knowledge of market changes that influence the company.
Strong existing portfolio of HORECA clients within the Mauritius market.
Extensive knowledge of gourmet products, with Italian gourmet products being a strong advantage.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a sales team.
Self driven/motivated; team player with winning spirit.
Ability to provide excellent customer experience.
Ability to lead a team to achieve sales targets.
