Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse & Logistics Officer to support daily warehouse operations while contributing to logistics planning and strategic improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient stock management, supporting decision-making processes, and gradually taking on broader logistics responsibilities with potential progression.
Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations:
Oversees daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, verification and dispatch of goods.
Ensure accurate stock control and inventory management in the warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP.
Maintain proper documentation and stock records.
Implement and enforce warehouse procedures and safety standards.
Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Optimize warehouse space utilization.
Logistics & Coordination:
Assist in planning and coordinating deliveries and shipments.
Liaise with suppliers, transport providers, and internal departments.
Monitor delivery schedules and ensure timely dispatch.
Support optimisation of logistics processes and cost efficiencies.
Optimize delivery routes to minimize costs and transit times.
Investigate delivery delays, damages, and customer complaints.
Strategic Support:
Assist the Warehouse and Logistics Manager in improving operational workflows.
Participate in planning, forecasting, and process enhancements.
Analyse stock movement and logistics performance data.
Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
Monitor adherence to warehouse procedures.
Coordination and communication with procurement, finance, production, sales, and maintenance teams.
what you need to know
Profile:
Diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years in warehouse operations or logistics.
Experience in inventory control and stock management systems.
Exposure to logistics coordination or transport management is an advantage.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
Strong MS Excel and reporting skills.
Understanding of logistics processes and supply chain flow.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Analytical thinking with attention to detail.
Good communication and coordination abilities.
Ability to work both operationally and strategically.
Leadership potential and willingness to grow.
Demonstrates honesty and ethical behaviour.
